What are the hours of operation?

Drop your pup off anytime from 7:00 AM and pick them up by 5:30 PM—with the flexibility to choose the length of their stay. Whether your pup needs a few hours of playtime or a full day of fun with their friends, we’ll make sure they have a happy, active, and enriching time with us!Half-day rates apply for stays of up to 5 hours, while full-day rates apply to stays over 5 hours.A little playtime goes a long way toward a happy, tired pup!

What vaccinations are required?

Your dog needs to be up to date on the following vaccinations: Rabies, Distemper/Parvo, and Bordetella. If this is the dog's first Bordetella vaccination, it must be given 1 week prior to attending daycare. After that, Bordetella must be renewed every 6 months. Bordetella vaccinations must be administered at least 24 hours prior to the first day of daycare. Dogs will NOT be allowed to attend daycare with out proof (certificates) of updated vaccinations.

What if there is a medical emergency while my dog is there?

Depending on the severity of the emergency, our first contact will either be with you or your dog's veterinarian. If there is a minor emergency or injury, we will contact you, the pet parent immediately. If you are unreachable, we call the emergency contact listed on your profile. We also have a pet first aid kit on hand to tend to any minor wounds. For more severe cases we will take your pup to their primary veterinarian if they are local. We will take them to one of Riverdale's vets, if your vet is not in the area. We recommend that you contact your vet to authorize/allow Pumkin Paws to bring in your dog in case of emergencies.

Do you offer tours of the facility?

We know it’s natural to want to see where your pup will spend their day! Because our daycare has an open, interactive layout, having unfamiliar people come through can create a lot of excitement for the dogs—barking, jumping, and extra stimulation. Imagine how excited your dog gets when someone rings the doorbell… now multiply that by a whole room full of pups! We’ve found that keeping unnecessary foot traffic and distractions to a minimum helps us maintain a calm, safe, and happy environment for the dogs in our care. Our focus during daycare hours is on the pups safety so if you want to see what the dogs do and the layout of the facility please request to join our closed Facebook group dedicated just for daycare parents.We’re always happy to answer your questions and share more about our daycare experience so you can feel confident your pup is in good hands.

Do you offer live webcams?

We know it can be reassuring to peek in on your pup during the day! While live webcams are popular at many daycares, we’ve made the intentional choice not to offer them.Our daycare is a busy, open environment where dogs are constantly playing, moving, and interacting. A camera only captures one small moment and doesn’t always tell the full story. We believe what matters most is having a team that is actively watching, listening, and understanding the dogs in front of us—not relying on what can be seen through a screen.We also value the privacy of our clients and their pups and prefer to keep our daycare environment comfortable and uninterrupted.You may not be able to watch your pup on a screen, but rest assured—we’re watching them all day long.

Question 8

My dog usually eats lunch, can he eat while attending daycare?"

Accepted Answer

If you have a puppy who is still eating a mid-day lunch, you are more than welcome to bring a Tupperware of their prepared meal. Please label the container. All pups who eat will be separated and able to enjoy their meal in peace!
