Why should I choose Pumkin Paws for my dogs daycare needs?Dogs are naturally social and require both animal and human interaction. Daycare allows your pup to socialize in a controlled and relaxed environment. We started off with individual walks and have evolved into a full-service pet care company that caters to dogs of all temperaments and activity levels. Whether you need a 20 minute walk or a full day of daycare, we are here to help you maintain a healthy & happy pup!
-
I would like for Pumkin Paws to provide transportation, what are the logisitics?"Pick up begins at around 7am. Drop offs are between 12:30-2pm. The rate is $6/each way and can be requested as needed and are based on availability.
-
What are the hours of operation? You can drop off your dog as early as 8:30am and pick up anytime by 4:30pm. Half a day rates apply for dogs that attend daycare for up to five hours. Full day rates apply after 5 hours.

What vaccinations are required?Your dog needs to be up to date on the following vaccinations: Rabies, Distemper/Parvo, and Bordetella. If this is the dog's first bordetella vaccination, it must be given 1 week prior to attending daycare. After that, bordetella must be renewed every 6 months. Bordetella vaccinations must be administered at least 24 hours prior to the first day of daycare. Dogs will NOT be allowed to attend daycare with out proof (certificates) of updated vaccinations.
-
What if there is a medical emergency while my dog is there?Depending on the severity of the emergency, our first contact will either be with you or your dog's veterinarian. If there is a minor emergency or injury, we will contact you, the pet parent immediately. If you are unreachable, we call the emergency contact listed on your profile. We also have a pet first aid kit on hand to tend to any minor wounds. For more severe cases we will take your pup to their primary veterinarian if they are local. We will take them to one of Riverdale's vets, if your vet is not in the area. We recommend that you contact your vet to authorize/allow Pumkin Paws to bring in your dog in case of emergencies.
-
Do you offer tours of the facility?Due to the open layout of our facility, we do not offer tours.
-
What are the benefits of dog daycare? There are many benefits to having your dog attend a dog daycare. Dogs are naturally social animals and require both animal and human interaction. Daycare teaches and maintains your dogs socialization skills which leads to increased confidence in new settings and around new people, reduces boredom, and anxiety. Daycare also provides your dog with much needed physical and mental exercise making it so that you come home to a worn out pup.
-
Do you offer live webcams? We do not offer live streaming webcams. However, we do have CC 24 hour surveillance for your pup's safety.
-
My dog usually eats lunch, can he eat while attending daycare?"In order to eliminate aggressive or possessive behaviors that may arise around food, we do not feed the dogs while in our facility. If your dog needs to eat during the day, we can feed him prior to pick up or after drop off. If it is imperative that your dog eats a mid-day lunch, please email or call and we will work out a plan to best meet your pup's needs.
