What sets us apart from the other dog waking companies?
Aside from being the first pet care company with a physical location (daycare) in Riverdale, we are first & only company in the Bronx to use GPS tracked walks and real-time check ins. We are also the only company where the pet sitters & walkers are employees! We are extremely selective with our staff, so rest assured that your pet is in good hands with Pumkin Paws. If for some reason your regular walker cannot make it, all of your notes will be accessed through our app making it a seamless transition.
I have a very social dog that loves to play, what if I want my dog to be socialized?
Schedule a time to visit our daycare!! If daycare is not a good option for you, all walks are customized to fit the needs of the owners and their dogs. Because of this, your dog will spend their time with us in any way in which you direct. If you wish for the visit to be spent in the dog run socializing with other dogs, we will be more than happy to do so. We can also attempt to match your dog with a friend, if you prefer a "buddy" walk. We do not believe in large group walks, so our walks are capped at 3 dogs!
What does it mean that you are bonded and insured?
Whether you choose to use our company or another one, NEVER choose a dog walker or pet sitter who is not bonded and insured. Insurance protects you from financial loss in the event that we are liable for accidents that occur while caring for your pet. We carry a liability insurance policy that covers up to one million dollars in damages. Bonding gives you peace of mind knowing that your will be reimbursed if anything is stolen from your home.
I am interested in using Pumkin Paws services, what is my next step?
Fill-out the form on the 'Contact Us' page! Upon receiving an email with the necessary paperwork, we will set up a complementary meet and greet with one of our professional pet sitters. During the meet and greet you will discuss all of your needs for your dogs as well as your expectations from our company. If comfortable with the walker and our services we will proceed with scheduling walks for your dog with their new best friend!
How far in advance do I need to book overnight visits with a host family?
We try to accommodate everyone, however, we fill up quickly. Giving at least one month's notice would be beneficial in securing your spot.
Are there extra fees for holiday visits?
Holiday visits are assessed a fee of $15. These visits include pet sitting or regularly scheduled walks that fall on holidays.
What is your cancellation policy?
Standard rates apply to cancellations made without 24 hours' notice for non-holiday visits. We require a full 7 days notice of cancellation for holiday visits. This includes those times when a walker arrives to find that you don't need a visit or that your pet isn't present.
